‘Not so brave now’ – Tottenham star Richarlison provokes awkward moment for Danny Rose

Tottenham star Richarlison gave their former player Danny Rose a scare in a hilarious moment before their 6-1 loss to Newcastle.

Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones was carrying out the pre-match build-up to the crucial clash alongside Jamie Redknapp, Rose and Kieron Dyer.

The quartet had based themselves pitchside at St James’ Park, close to where Tottenham conducted their warm up.

Jones turned the subject of discussion to Richarlison who has endured a tough first season in north London since his £60million move from Everton last summer.

Speaking to Rose, Jones asked: “I’m just noticing Richarlison, Danny just running up behind you a second ago, that is someone who’s not smiling right now?

As Rose was set to give his answer, Richarlison ran up behind the Sky Sports team causing Rose and Jones to pause awkwardly.

As Richarlison changed the direction of his run a relieved Jones said: “He’s [Richarlison] given us the thumbs up.”

Redknapp then brilliantly took the opportunity to offer a dig at the pair for the pause saying: “You’re not so brave now are you.”

Richarlison was on the bench for Spurs in their game at Newcastle in what was a key game in the race for Champions League qualification.

Tottenham, though, were thoroughly embarrassed by the Magpies, losing 6-1, heavily denting their hopes of returning to the competition next season, and leaving fans baffled as to where they go now.
