22-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic hopes to be remembered for his dedication and devotion to tennis. Djokovic, 35, has always been known for his hard work and exceptional commitment to even the smallest details. Djokovic’s hard work and efforts have certainly paid off as he is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in tennis history.
Even now at the age of 35, Djokovic is still searching for ways to become a better player. “I would say dedication and devotion. And everything that revolves around that. Just trying to master your craft in a way by being dedicated, by growing and improving and constantly seeking to improve.
I think that kind of mentality of constantly seeking to get better, improve yourself, your environment and of course be inspirational for the young athletes around the world,” Djokovic told The National.
Djokovic does not want to comment on the fake injury claims
Djokovic, who suffered a hamstring injury at the Adelaide International, was accused of faking an injury at the Australian Open.
After Djokovic won the Australian Open, he admitted that some of the stuff he read and heard about him bothered him. A month has passed since Djokovic’s Australian Open triumph and the Serb is refusing to get into discussions with those who were accusing him of faking an injury in Australia.
“I just had enough. I really don’t have time or energy or willingness to deal with someone else’s judgment or proving something to someone. I already accepted the fact that there’s always going to be a group of people that is not going to like you, that is not going to like what you say, how you go about your tennis or anything in your private life.
There’s always going to be judgement. But you grow stronger from that,” Djokovic said. Meanwhile, Djokovic is returning to action in Dubai, where he is a five-time champion.
