PETA Begs Kid Rock For Help As It Calls For Budweiser Boycott

Bud Light has lost over $27 billion since the brand went full woke back in April by teaming up with the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Now, things have gotten even worse for the beer brand, as PETA has launched a boycott of its sister company Budweiser, and the animal rights group is calling on Kid Rock for backup.

PETA Sends Letter To Kid Rock

Newsweek reported that PETA has announced that it sent a letter to Kid Rock asking him to stop serving Budweiser at his Big Ass Honky Tonk & Rock ‘n’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville, Tennessee in protest of the “mutilating of Clydesdale horses” by the beer brand.

In the letter, PETA slammed Budweiser for using the horses in ad campaigns for years, claiming that the beer company “quietly severs the magnificent horses’ tailbones—either with a scalpel or with a tight band that stops the blood supply to the tail, causing it to die and fall off—just so that the horses will look a certain way when hitched to a beer wagon.”

PETA went on to tell Kid Rock that “both the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the American Veterinary Medical Association condemn severing horses’ tails unless it’s medically necessary.”

“Ten states—as well as many European countries, including Belgium, where Anheuser-Busch is headquartered—have banned this practice,” PETA continued. “If Budweiser is concerned that tail hair might become entangled in a wagon’s hitch equipment, simple braiding and wrapping of the tails would prevent this possibility.”

“Will you consider halting sales of Budweiser products at Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk & Rock ’n’ Roll Steakhouse until Anheuser-Busch commits to stopping the amputation of its Clydesdales’ tailbones?” the letter concluded.

‘Budweiser-Free Zone’

PETA senior vice president Kathy Guillermo issued a brief statement about the situation as well.

“Only God knows why Budweiser gets away with such a lowlife thing as cutting off horses’ tailbones,” Guillermo said. “PETA is painting Kid Rock a picture of the company’s cruelty to Clydesdales in the hope that he’ll make his restaurant a Budweiser-free zone.”

Anheuser-Busch, Budweiser’s parent company, has yet to respond to this letter. Back in February, however, the company told PETA that the safety of its Clydesdale horses was a “top priority.”

“The safety and well-being of our beloved Clydesdales is our top priority. Combined with our highly trained staff of professional caretakers, we partner with an equine medical expert to ensure our animals receive the highest level and quality of care,” an Anheuser-Busch spokesperson said at the time.

Kid Rock’s Bud Light Boycott

This comes after Kid Rock claimed to have banned Bud Light from being served at his Nashville bar in the wake of the Mulvaney ad campaign.

“Grandpa is feeling a little frisky today. Let me tell you as clear and concise as possible,” Kid Rock said in a video posted to social media. Wearing a MAGA hat, Kid Rock then opened fire at cases of Bud Light in the footage, which quickly went viral.

“F*** Bud Light and f*** Anheuser-Busch,” Kid Rock concluded as he flipped off the camera.

While Kid Rock and PETA seem like unlikely allies, there’s nothing that brings two opposing sides together quite like a common enemy, and they certainly have that at the moment in the form of Budweiser. Kid Rock has yet to respond publicly to PETA’s letter, but it will certainly be interesting to see if he heeds their call to stick it to Anheuser-Busch even further by boycotting Budweiser!
