Romelu Lukaku has been spotted at Chelsea’s training ground in Cobham despite his future at the club appearing over.
The Belgian striker was pictured alongside one of the club’s under-12 players while wearing a club tracksuit after returning to training.
Lukaku is facing an uncertain future since returning to Stamford Bridge following his loan deal with Inter Milan last summer.
The 30-year-old striker re-joined the Blues in 2021 for a then club-record £97.5million deal from the Italian side, but scored just eight goals in his one season back in England.
He then returned to the San Siro last summer and scored 14 goals and bagged seven assists for Simone Inzaghi’s side.
Lukaku now wants to leave Chelsea permanently, however a destination has not yet been found.
Inter were interested in signing the ex-Manchester United man on a permanent basis, however they pulled out of a potential deal upon hearing that he had held secret talks with Juventus over a move.
But one thing that appears certain is that his Chelsea days are all-but over, as confirmed by Mauricio Pochettino during the club’s US tour.
Asked about Lukaku’s situation, Pochettino explained: “It is the club and of course it is an interesting situation.
“When this type of decision is [made, it is] because they all agree. The player and club are working hard to try and find best solution.”
He continued: “It is obvious the decision had been made on the side of the player also. We act in consequence of the decision. The club and player are in the position they wanted.”
