Ruben Loftus-Cheek scores first-half hat-trick for AC Milan with help from former Chelsea co-star Christian Pulisic

Ruben Loftus-Cheek looks ready and raring to go at AC Milan after scoring a hat-trick in a pre-season friendly.

He called time on his Chelsea career this summer to complete a move to the Serie A giants in the hopes of regular first-team football.

Minutes were by no means scarce at the Blues but Milan presents him with the chance to become a consistent starter on the big stage.

Loftus-Cheek has also been joined at the San Siro by fellow former Chelsea man Christian Pulisic.

Both have been reunited with Olivier Giroud who left Stamford Bridge in 2021, and all three were involved on Saturday evening.

Milan hosted Tunisian side Etoile Sportive du Sahel as they continue their preparations for the new season.

After just 13 minutes, Loftus-Cheek got onto the scoresheet when he volleyed in from Pulisic’s cross.

Rafael Leao was next to become the provider for the 27-year-old as he sent a low ball into the area for the Englishman to convert.

With seven minutes remaining in the first half Loftus-Cheek sealed his hat-trick, this time a half-volley from Pulisic’s cross once again.

Giroud then got in on the act early in the second half with a penalty to secure a 4-0 win.

They may not have played a side with the level of quality that they’re used to but Milan will surely be pleased with the result.

Loftus-Cheek also proved that not only can he assert his dominance in the midfield, but he can do a job up front too.

He has scored just 16 senior goals for club and country at a senior level, although his tally could increase this season.

Just nine days separate him and his Serie A debut when Milan travel to Bologna for their first game of the season.
