Sixers ready for a better effort, fight from Pistons in rematch at home

DETROIT–When a team gets beat the way the Detroit Pistons did on Sunday, they are going to want a rematch rather quickly in order to bounce back from a poor effort.

The Philadelphia 76ers invaded the Little Caesars Arena on Sunday afternoon missing Joel Embiid and PJ Tucker and they led by as many as 23 on their way to a 123-111 win. The Sixers were able to get efforts from up and down the roster in order to have success.

As the Pistons now get set to pay a visit to the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday in the rematch, the Sixers are prepared for a better effort and a fight from Detroit.

“Obviously, you can make adjustments and game plan and whatnot in a quick period of time,” stated Tobias Harris. “It’s kind of like playoff basketball a little bit just in terms of the matchup. Playing them and playing again with a day off.”

The Pistons are a struggling bunch at 11-32, but they have some impressive road wins. They beat the Denver Nuggets, the Utah Jazz, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Golden State Warriors all on the road so they are capable of coming away with a win in Philadelphia.

That is what the Sixers are going to caution against.

“I don’t care who you play,” said coach Doc Rivers. “You beat that team, they have pride, and we know Tuesday, they’re gonna come in, they’re gonna want to win that game. Go to a park, any park, pick a park and lose the first game. The second game is gonna be rough and you just know that and so that’s what we got to be ready for.”
