Stefan Savic and Ferran Torres sent off for WWE-style wrestle during Barcelona’s fiery win over Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid

Stefan Savic and Ferran Torres were both sent off for a WWE-style scrap during Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid.

The two sides went head-to-head at the Metropolitana Stadium in Madrid in LaLiga in a clash that came to a fiery conclusion.

It was Barcelona who had taken the lead after 22 minutes through Ousmane Dembele. However, with Atletico unhappy about a challenge from Gavi in the buildup to the goal, the match immediately got rather spiky.

That meant that Atletico were playing on the edge as the game moved into injury time.

Following a 50-50 ball on the halfway line, Savic and Torres found themselves embroiled in the tussle that continued as Diego Simeone’s side pushed forward to try and find a late equaliser.

That attacking move was cut short when the referee saw the two stars wrestling on the turf.

It was tough-tacking Savic who slid in on the Barcelona forward, winning the ball in typically combative style before playing it to a teammate.

Taking exception to the challenge, Barcelona forward Torres was less-than impressed as he grabbed at the Atletico star, leading Savic to try and get him in a headlock.

While both players tried to argue their cases to the referee, the man in charge was having none of it as both players were sent off and missed the final exchanges of the contest.

The 1-0 win for Barcelona leaves them top of the table in LaLiga, leading bitter rivals Real Madrid by three points.

Ateltico, meanwhile, are fifth in the division, 14 points behind the Camp Nou club.
