Stefanos Tsitsipas is yet to find his A-game on grass this season. Following an early Stuttgart loss, Stefanos experienced another in Halle, falling to Nicolas Jarry 7-6, 7-5 in the second round. The Chilean sealed the deal in an hour and 51 minutes for his second grass-court win over the Greek from as many encounters.
They fired 63 service winners (33-30 for Stefanos), and Nicolas played better in the decisive moments. Jatty denied all five break points and delivered one break in the second set’s closing stages to seal the deal in straight sets and reach the last eight.
Tsitsipas wasted many break chances in the opener and a set point in the tie break. He felt pressure in the second set’s final part to lose serve and experience an early loss.
