Gervonta Davis takes on Ryan Garcia this evening in what is one of the most highly-anticipated fights in boxing this year.
The Americans will both be putting their unbeaten records on the line in Las Vegas after months of back-and-forth.
Davis has a reputation as one of the hardest punchers in boxing and will be aiming to prove himself on the biggest stage.
The 28-year-old’s career so far has been filled with KOs and another against Garcia would prove to be his best victory in the ring.
Gervonta Davis record
Davis is unbeaten in his professional career, winning all 28 of his fights.
He has won by KO or TKO in 26 of those, coming out on top via unanimous decision in the other two.
Most recently, ‘Tank’ beat Hector Luis Garcia in January, retaining his WBA lightweight title and ending his opponent’s unbeaten streak while extending his own.
This win followed victories over Roland Romero and Isaac Cruz in 2022 and 2021 respectively.
Davis has previously held the IBF super featherweight title and the WBA super featherweight title before winning the WBA lightweight belt.
He is one of the best young stars in the sport and will be tested to see whether he can live up to his hype on the big stage in what promises to be one of the best fights of 2023.
Gervonta Davis net worth
Davis’ net worth is approximately $4million (£3.2m), according to Celebrity Net Worth.
He has gained this net worth from his 28 wins, earning a reported $2m (£1.6m) against Roland Romero before adding another $1.5m (£1.2m) after beating Hector Luis Garcia.
‘Tank’ will add to his career earnings this weekend against Ryan Garcia who has a significantly higher net worth of $10million (£8m).
In fact, the pair have agreed to bet their whole purses on the outcome of the fight on Saturday night in Last Vegas, Nevada.
They spoke on Instragram Live and Davis immediately posed the question to Garcia: “Yo, you wanna bet?” in reference to their upcoming clash.
“Yeah, let’s do it… I’m down,” Garcia replied.
‘Tank’ almost looked in shock that Garcia had agreed, as he confirmed: “The whole purse?”
And Garcia remained steadfast, saying: “Let’s do it, the whole purse.
“You hear me on the live, let’s go, let’s make a contract, let’s sign it, both of us, let’s do it, if you really want it.”
If they both follow through with it, there could be a lot on the line, as this is one of the biggest fights of the year and likely represents a career-best payday for the two fighters.
But their commitment to this idea makes this an even more intriguing fight and one you don’t want to miss.
