UFC London date: Start time, full fight card, live stream and how to follow as Tom Aspinall returns from horror injury to face Marcin Tybura

Tom Aspinall will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon to face Poland’s Marcin Tybura at UFC London next weekend.

The 30-year-old suffered a horrible knee injury during his clash with Curtis Blaydes last year, but he is back and ready to continue his MMA career.

After the fight, it was revealed that Aspinall suffered ligament damage to his ACL and MCL, so to be ready to fight again already is a testament to the Brit.

Aspinall’s opponent Tybura is seven years older and has been fighting in UFC since 2016, so he has plenty of experience.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Molly McCann will also return after her defeat to Erin Blanchfield in November 2022.

‘Meatball’ is one of the biggest British MMA stars and will look to get back on track against Lithuania’s Julija Stoliarenko.

UFC London: What has been said?

Aspinall: “To be honest, I think I had one of the best years of my life.

“I had so much personal growth out of the experience, and I think my mind is just in a really good place now.

“Any athlete will tell you that your mind is one of the most important tools you can use.

“I think I was a little bit burnt out before – I was so active and going back-to-back-to-back-to-back with fights constantly.

“Everything was going so smoothly, I had no push-back on anything, whereas now I appreciate everything.

“I appreciate going in there in nine weeks’ time, being able to earn money and get respect from doing what I love.”

Meanwhile, McCann is determined to back to winning ways, she said: “If I feel like I just want to focus on me for a bit, I will.

“Being successful in the octagon, that’s the important bit for me.

“I just need to get a couple of wins back.

“Two of my last three losses have come to title contenders [Taila Santos and Blanchfield], so it’s not a bad place to be really.”
