UFC president Dana White’s dream slap fight would see Michael Jordan vs LeBron James

Dana White is spending a lot of time talking about fantasy matchups lately.

The UFC president has been trying to convince WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to test himself in the octagon against UFC legend Jon Jones.

White has even suggested he could deliver a payday akin to the one Floyd Mayweather got for his fight with Conor McGregor in 2017, but ‘The Gypsy King’ isn’t interested.

Now, the 53-year-old has turned his attention to slap fighting and dreamt up his ideal match – a meeting between NBA legends Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

“Michael Jordan [would win],” he told Barstool Sports.

“Listen, I respect LeBron and what he has done and who he is as an athlete. Never in trouble. Always there for the games. Makes a big difference when he’s on a team. You feel the difference when he’s on a team.

“But Jordan is my all-time [favourite player]. And I’m a [Boston] Celtics guy, but Jordan is a f***ing killer. Jordan is a killer.”

White’s entry into the world of slap fighting baffled many and he faced calls to scrap Power Slap after being caught on camera hitting his wife during a New Year’s Eve party.

However, the UFC boss decided to press ahead with his new league which faced backlash when videos of several brutal knockouts began to circulate on social media.

Despite the negative reaction to the Power Slap, White insisted it is here to stay and even claimed it outperforms the UFC, WWE, and NFL in terms of social media views.

The second series of the show got underway last month and quickly gained public attention when two super heavyweights threw down in a historic fight.

A video of 33 stone internet celebrity ‘Slap for Cash’, who ate a chocolate bar while weighing in, being knocked out cold by 26 stone Dayne ‘Da Hawaiian Hitman’ Viernes went viral.

After the success of Power Slap’s first super-heavyweight fight, White will certainly be looking to make more unique match-ups moving forward.

Unfortunately, it seems highly unlikely he’ll be able to convince Jordan and James to make his fantasy fight a reality.
