Vanderbilt University women’s tennis team was soundly defeated by Tennessee with the final score of 4-0, at the Goodfriend Tennis Center.

The Dores will travel to Athens this week to compete in the SEC Tournament.
Bridget Stammel and Amy Stevens earned a win in doubles, but it wasn’t enough as the Volunteers reclaimed the early lead and followed up with back-to-back singles wins.

Alana Wolfberg and Esther Adeshina was defeated Holly Staff and Valeria Ray 6-2. Stammel and Stevens battled it out on Court 3, outlasting Catherine Aulia and Lauren Anzalotta of the Volunteers 7-5, leaving the doubles decision to Célia-Belle Mohr and Lee on Court 1. Sofia Cabezas and Elza Tomase captured the doubles and conquered field 1 7 -5, and the Volunteers gained the initial advantage.
Mohr won the first set on court 1, but Tennessee didn’t go away and took points from several other courts. Wolfberg added a point to the board for Tennessee, beating Ray 6-0, 6-1 on court 3, and the score was 2-0. Staff and Stammel fell to their Volunteer opponents shortly thereafter, and Tennessee won the game to end their senior day in Knoxville with a 4-0 victory.
