Emma Raducanu seemingly did a lot of hard work in the gym this week as the Briton took to her social media to share how her week of training went. Raducanu, who hasn’t played since April, is preparing to return to tennis at the start of the 2024 season.

Lately, Raducanu has been ramping up the intensity of her gym training. After undergoing three surgeries, there is no doubt that Raducanu wants to return as strong as possible. “Another week closer. #progress,” Raducanu captioned her X post.

When Raducanu plays again?

Just last week, Raducanu confirmed that she still doesn’t know where her comeback will officially start.

However, Raducanu also confirmed that she will be returning to tennis at the start of the 2024 season. “Not exactly but I will be back for the start of the season for sure,” Raducanu told BBC Radio 4 Today. Raducanu hasn’t yet figured out where her first WTA tournament will be but she knows where her first action since multiple surgeries will come.

In July, Raducanu signed up to compete at the MGM Macau Tennis Masters – an exhibition event that is set to place in China between December 02-03. In Macau, Raducanu is scheduled to take on Belinda Bencic. Unless Raducanu pulls out of the exhibition, it will be her first match in eight months.

“There will be an even greater connection to the local community. Emma’s [Raducanu] Chinese roots and her remarkable rise to stardom by winning the US Open have made her a global sensation, while Wu Yibing’s historic feat as the first Chinese national to win an ATP tournament has significantly elevated his standing in world tennis,” Luiz Carvalho, a senior vice-president at sports group IMG, said in a statement in July.

In the next couple of weeks, Raducanu will continue putting up effort to return healthy and ready at the start of the 2024 season.
