Why is Manchester United vs Leeds not on TV? Rearranged fixture to be played this week in first game of Premier League double-header

Manchester United will welcome Leeds to Old Trafford on Wednesday in the first game of their Premier League double-header this week.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides this season before the reverse fixture at Elland Road takes place this weekend.

Man United will face Leeds twice in one week in the Premier League

Man United were meant to face Leeds in September last year but the game was postponed after Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

After months of waiting for the match to be given another date, it was eventually scheduled to go ahead this week on February 8.

Why is Manchester United vs Leeds United not on TV?

The game will not be shown on TV this week due to the original fixture not being chosen for broadcast in the UK.

If a game that is not chosen for broadcast is postponed, then the rearranged match is still not able to be shown on TV.

While the match may not be available to watch, talkSPORT will have you covered with EXCLUSIVE live commentary on Wednesday.

Adrian Durham will present the coverage from Old Trafford while commentary will come from Sam Matterface and former England defender Micky Gray.

Leeds boss Jesse Marsch was sacked on Monday

The game will be Leeds’ first without manager Jesse Marsch who was relieved from his duties on Monday afternoon

Marsch was sacked after the Whites were beaten by Nottingham Forest at the weekend, leaving them only one place outside the relegation zone.

talkSPORT understands that West Brom manager Carlos Corberan is being eyed as a potential replacement but he is unlikely to take over before facing Man United.

Managerless Leeds will take on Erik ten Hag’s side as they look to capitalise on Man City and Arsenal’s recent defeats and put themselves firmly in the Premier League title race.
