Melbourne’s champion Jannik Sinner had been earning tens of millions of dollars every year before winning this year’s Australian Open thanks to a bunch of high-end brands that believed in Sinner’s marketing potential even before winning his first Grand Slam.

According to a Gazzetta Dello Sport report cited by AP News, Jannik Sinner has been racking in $27 million per year from sponsors like Nike, Gucci, Rolex, and Alfa Romeo. Despite the big money pouring in his bank accounts, Sinner declared in an interview that “my goal isn’t to make money: it’s to become the best version of me.” We, however, looked into each sponsorship deal to get a better picture of how Sinner gets to the astounding sum.

Sinner and Nike’s mindblowing contract

Jannik Sinner has been sponsored by Nike for a few years now. The Italian got specifically designed shoes in 2019 before playing in the Next Gen Finals held in Milan.

Nevertheless, the new contract valued at over $150 million he reportedly struck with Nike in 2022 raised eyebrows.

Since then, Sinner’s social media accounts frequently displayed the famous Nike logo.

And let’s not forget about the Nike event Sinner attended with Carlos Alcaraz in 2023.

Sinner and Gucci’s extravagancy

Jannik Sinner’s deal with Gucci likely started in the summer of 2021, when he captioned one of his Instagram posts with the phrase: “@gucci just the beginning.”

Sinner was also involved in a Gucci video commercial, in which he says he was “called a robot, a machine.” Moreover, he attended a gala organized by Gucci in Puglia, Italy.

Sinner and the “prestigious” Rolex

Rolex welcomed Sinner as one of their brand ambassadors in 2020. “Very honoured and humbled to join such a prestigious brand as a global ambassador,” Sinner wrote on Instagram.

One of Rolex’s greatest tennis ambassadors is Roger Federer, but the luxury watch brand has been seen on the wrists of players like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Grigor Dimitrov, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and the “Tower of Tandil” Juan Martin Del Potro.

Sinner and his care for Alfa Romeo

Jannik Sinner is in love with cars, especially with the Alfa Romeo brand. Look at him polishing up the rims of his car in 2021.

Besides Alfa Romeo, Sinner is a Formula 1 fan.

“One of the main reasons why I love F1, whether that’s watching, karting with my friends, or racing in a simulator, is because I feel there’s a lot of synergies between tennis and racing. I feel that in both sports it’s all about the 1% and it’s the small details that make a huge difference,” Sinner said for the F1 website.

As Sinner just bagged his first Grand Slam with his spectacular comeback victory over Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open final, the brands sponsoring him are likely already seeing spikes in awareness. Yet, the ROI on Sinner could grow even more as Sinner displayed his ambition to conquer another important trophy.

“I beat Djokovic in the semi-final and Medvedev in the final, they are very strong tennis players and this is a great moment for me and my team. In the end I proved that hard work always pays off and now we have to improve even more if we want to win another big trophy,” he explained during the final press conference at Australian Open.
