Novak Djokovic comes back to the US Open with a win. The Serbian had not played in Flushing Meadows for two years and appeared enthusiastic about returning to the Grand Slam tournament, the last of his excellent 2023. Nole beat Alexandre Muller 6-0 6-2 6-3 in about an hour and a half.With this victory, Djokovic is once again No.1 in the ATP ranking.
Unlike Alcaraz, the Serbian has no points to defend and therefore can acquire an interesting advantage in terms of Ranking. However, the priority of the tennis player is to win and try to get the 24th Grand Slam title and the journey has just begun.Djokovic, at the press conference after the victory, talked about many topics, from the stars on the crowd to his come back in New York.

He explained: “The Obamas in the crowd until the end? I knew I was starting quite late but nevertheless I was excited to take the court.
I didn’t care if I started after midnight, but my desire was to take the field in the biggest and loudest stadium our sport can see. I played in the evening and there was also a ceremony, it was really special for me. Maybe it lasted longer than I felt, but for me it was a great joy to return to the court.
My performance? I’m satisfied, I was particularly good and especially in the first two sets I was perfect. The first set in particular was flawless, but overall I feel very satisfied. Let’s say that I had the answer I had in mind and I hope to maintain this level until the end.
We’re only at the beginning but I’m happy.The Arthur Ashe Stadium Stadium? I repeat, it is the noisiest and probably the biggest stadium and it is certainly the stadium with the highest humidity. I see tennis players get really soaked in the humidity, you sweat a lot on the court.
This court is however historic and has seen many battles. Even people don’t care to be late because they get excited watching tennis, all this is amazing and if you accept this you will have a lot of fun.
