The latest dog-themed memecoin rally was initiated by Dogecoin’s 25% run right after Elon ‘The Dogefather’ Musk changed the original Twitter logo to the DOGE mascot for three days. DOGE’s rival, Shiba Inu (SHIB), scored solid gains but faced a market price correction afterward and gained just 4.20% in the last seven days.
On the other hand, canine coins on other popular blockchains fetched significantly more. For instance, Baby Doge Coin (BABYDOGE), the leading memecoin on BNB Chain, soared by 39% in the last seven days, increasing the puppy’s price by a whopping 50% in monthly terms.
Currently, Baby Doge Coin trades at $0.000000003411 but has a significantly larger market cap of $537 million compared to Bonk’s $40 million, as well as 1.9 million followers in comparison to Bonk’s 107,500.
The Great Return of Solana’s BONK?
Surprisingly, the Solana-based memecoin Bonk (BONK), once proclaimed dead by many crypto enthusiasts on Twitter, surged by 50% in the weekly charts. The orange-hued cartoon canine nearly bonked out of the TOP 1,000 by global market capitalization in the past couple of months, but this week’s comeback efforts have been considerable.
The recent success stems from 50% of $BONK being airdropped to the Solana community during launch and is still widely used as a tipping coin. At press time, BONK trades at $0.000000941989, according to CoinGecko. Indeed, the ongoing price spike for BONK has led to many crypto traders putting $BONK back on the watchlist.
