Carlos Alcaraz reveals watching highlights of Roger Federer and Andy Murray is one of the things he is doing in an attempt to figure out playing on the grass. Alcaraz, 20, is already one of the most complete players in the game and a very strong force on hard and clay.

But just like his idol Rafael Nadal in his younger days, Alcaraz also needs a bit more time to figure out the grass. For now, Alcaraz is emphasizing learning to move better on the grass. “Speaking for myself, I like to put on videos of Federer, of Murray, who are among the players who move best on grass.

I’m not going to talk about Djokovic because he slides and that won’t be my case,” Alcaraz told Estadio Deportivo.

Alcaraz on the most difficult part about playing on the grass

Just prior to kicking off his grass season at the Queen’s Club, Alcaraz admitted that movement was the most difficult thing for him on the grass.

Also, Alcaraz also noted that being aggressive on the grass is the easiest part for him. “The most difficult part of playing on grass is being able to move well. You have to be more careful than on the other surfaces; but the most comfortable thing for me is being able to go to the net and play more aggressive all the time.

That side is similar to the other surfaces so playing that style is comfortable and natural for me – I really like it. There are a lot of players who slide on grass and I’m not one of them, so I have to think a lot more about my movement and be really focused on every move and every shot I make.

It can be more tiring because you’re constantly moving – it’s totally different to the other surfaces and I have to put in a specific type of work to get ready for it,” Alcaraz said. Alcaraz is one of the most stunning talents the game has seen in a very long time and it’s probably just a matter of time before he figures out playing on the grass.
