Jordan Henderson’s strike against Senegal set England on their way to a comfortable World Cup victory – and the celebration was even better.
The Liverpool midfielder slotted home inside the first half to make it 1-0 to the Three Lions after some fine work from Jude Bellingham down the left flank.
The 32-year-old converted with ease before seeking out the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder to credit him for laying the goal on a plate for him.
In typical Henderson style, the midfielder grabbed Bellingham and ‘squared up’ to him in a show of passion before embracing the youngster in a hug.
Harry Kane then struck in the final moments of the first half before Bukayo Saka sealed the easy 3-0 win early in the second.
Up next for England are reigning champions France, which will be a serious test of their credentials to win the World Cup – but before that there was time for some light-hearted celebrations from Bellingham and his England teammates.
Among those celebrations was a social media post from England’s official Twitter account which showed Henderson and Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold recreating their famous celebration in the tunnel at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Bellingham was also seen with a big grin on his face as he clearly saw the funny side on a night of good feeling for the Three Lions in Qatar.
