Jordan Henderson spotted filming Liverpool exit video at Anfield ahead of move to Al Ettifaq

Liverpool star Jordan Henderson has been spotted filming what appears to be a goodbye video at Anfield.

The Reds captain is set to move to Saudi Arabia to reunite with Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq.

A deal has been agreed that will see the England international earn up to £700,000-a-week in an extravagant contract.

Henderson has been allowed to stay at home while Liverpool went on their pre-season tour of Germany.

And it appears that the midfielder has filmed himself on the Anfield pitch making a farewell video.

It is similar to what Ruben Neves did before he left Wolves for the Saudi Pro League this summer.

The Portugal international broke into tears after bidding the Molineux goodbye.

Henderson has spent the last 12 years at Liverpool and, if he leaves, would not have got the chance to see goodbye to the fans.

During his time at the club, he adopted the captain’s armband from Gerrard after becoming a pivotal team member.

Since taking over as skipper in 2015, he has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

In total, he has played 492 times for the Reds and will no doubt go down as one of Liverpool’s biggest legends for the list of silverware he has lifted.

So leaving over the summer without getting the chance to say goodbye to a packed Anfield will leave a sour taste in many mouths, including his.

But this move from the Saudi Pro League is just one of many aggressive transfer attempts in the summer transfer window.

Kylian Mbappe is the latest subject to a massive bid, being offered £605m to play for one year at Al Hilal.

Cristiano Ronaldo is already in the league with Al Nassr, as well as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Kalidou Koulibaly and Neves.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has refused to speak much on the impending transfer when asked why he left Henderson at home.

He said: “As long as things are not really finally decided, we don’t have to talk about it.

“There will be a moment where we probably have to talk about it, but it’s not now.

“In the end, all of these decisions [over players] are made by me.

“And because I respect the players a lot, it’s usually with consent. It was in this case, and it is all fine.”
