Jude Bellingham could not hide his glee as Borussia Dortmund edged closer to the Bundesliga title on Sunday.
Sebastien Haller netted twice in a 3-0 win over Augsburg which means Dortmund are one win away from clinching the league title ahead of Bayern Munich.
And Bellingham was full of delight having missed the match through injury.
He tweeted: “COME ONNNN!!! 1 left.”
Dortmund leapfrogged Bayern in first spot and have gone two points clear with one game left in the Bundesliga season.
The German champions lost 3-1 to RB Leipzig on Saturday, handing the advantage to Edin Terzic’s men.
If they beat Mainz at home next week, Dortmund will win their first Bundesliga title since the 2011/12 season.
That would put the brakes on Bayern’s dominance in Germany, who have won the last 11 league titles on offer.
And it was Haller who has taken BVB to the brink when his double helped down Augsburg 3-0 after a tetchy first-half.
Felix Uduokhai was sent off in the opening half before Haller netted the first of the match just before the hour mark.
The 28-year-old, who missed a large chunk of the season with testicular cancer, grabbed his second late on before Julian Brandt scored with the last kick of the game.
Haller has been in fine form in recent weeks, scoring five in three league games.
And the former West Ham striker continues to act as an inspiration, who was diagnosed just weeks after signing for Dortmund last summer.
He remarkably beat the disease after six months and has since returned to the squad, firing in the goals that puts them in the Bundesliga title race driving seat.
It would be an incredible achievement for Dortmund, who lost Erling Haaland last year to Manchester City.
In contrast, it could be a disastrous year for Bayern Munich, who sacked Julian Nagelsmann in March when Dortmund first jumped above them in the league.
But Thomas Tuchel’s arrival has not sparked the kind of reaction that they had hoped for as they face going without silverware for the first time since 2011/12.
The Allianz Arena outfit crashed out of the DFB-Pokal Cup and the Champions League in the early weeks of Tuchel’s reign.
Dortmund entertain Mainz, while Bayern face Koln on the final day but the Bundesliga is now out of their hands.
