The Citizens are currently five points behind the Gunners but can cut that gap to two before the north Londoners host Bournemouth later on today.
And Pep Guardiola’s men boast an excellent record against Newcastle, having won their last 13 Premier League games against the Toon at the Etihad.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s Magpies have slipped out of the top four after one win in seven league ties and were beaten 2-0 by Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final last week.
But they have still only lost twice in the Premier League all season and have ambitions of bringing European football back to Tyneside for the first time since 2013.
