Second day with a particular flavor at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 2023, in Scotland. The DP World Tour event following the Ryder Cup 2023, in fact, provides that the cuts will be made not at the end of the second round, but at the end of the third, in order to allow everyone to alternate between Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and the ‘Old Course at St.
Andrews. And it’s at Kingsbarns that Matt Fitzpatrick’s time arrives. Not satisfied with his stellar weekend at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, the Englishman takes the lead with today’s score of -8 which sends him to -13 overall; for him 9 birdies and a bogey.

Most of the top ten is occupied by players who competed against Kingsbarns and St. Andrews today. Let’s go in order. At St. Andrews they find a -6 and a -5 which gives them second place at -12 for the Spaniard Nacho Elvira and the Scot Grant Forrest.
English pair of quarter-finals, but on different routes: Matthew Southgate’s -10 overall arrives at Kingsbarns, Marcus Armitage’s on the Old Course. Sixth was the most European of all USA, Billy Horschel, the New Zealander Ryan Fox, the Frenchman Matthieu Pavon and the Finnish Sami Valimaki, all with a score of -9; the first two staged at Kingsbarns, the others at St.
Andrews. The first traces of Carnoustie arrive with the tenths at -8, and in particular with the Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts and the American Peter Uihlein. On stage at Kingsbarns the Dutchman Daan Huizing, on the Old Course the Englishman Matt Wallace, the German Nick Bachem and the Spanish Alejandro Del Rey.
As regards the Italian chapter, Guido Migliozzi defends himself well with 40th place at -4 and par at Kingsbarns. Renato Paratore managed to get back on track, also 86th at Kingsbarns with a daily score of -2 and a total of -1.
The Old Course at St Andrews is one of the oldest golf courses in the world and the oldest surviving in Scotland. The Old Course is a public course established on public land in St Andrews, County Fife, Scotland and is managed in trust by the St Andrews Trust under an Act of Parliament.
The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A) clubhouse is located adjacent to the first tee. Although one might think that the R&A owns the course, it is in fact just one of many clubs with playing privileges on the course that they share with everyone.
