The new trailer for the Netflix series Break Point shows what message did Nick Kyrgios think he would have sent by winning the 2022 Wimbledon, before he was denied by Djokovic in the final. “If I win Wimbledon, it’s like a middle finger to everyone,” Kyrgios says in the trailer.
But as we all know, Kyrgios was denied in the final act of the only grand slam played on grass by Novak Djokovic. After Kyrgios won the 1st set, he lost the next three bowing down to the fresh Roland Garros champion (6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-7).
The Break Point series produced by Netflix “follows a diverse group of tennis players on and off the court as they compete in grueling slams with hopes of winning a final and even bigger dreams of becoming world number one.
Break Point gets up close and personal with top players on the tennis circuit through an entire year traveling across the globe for all four Grand Slams and the ATP and WTA tours.” The first part of the series is streaming while the second one will be launched on Netflix on June 21st.
Here is how Netflix describes the second part: “the most promising players in tennis see dreams realized and hopes dashed as the second half of the 2022 season takes them from Wimbledon to the US Open.”
What other players appear in the trailer
Watch it and you’ll see a few sequences featuring Nick Kyrgios. Besides Kyrgios, other ATP and WTA players, like Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz, and Aryna Sabalenka, appear in the trailer. Here is how the WTA described the trailer.
