Nets’ Ben Simmons will be healthy for next season per Simmons’ agent

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons‘ agent, Bernie Lee, said that his client will be healthy for the start of the 2023-2024 NBA season, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post. This news comes after Lee said that Simmons should be able to participate in Brooklyn’s training camp this summer.

Simmons was recently ruled out for the rest of the 2022-2023 season because of a nerve impingement in his back that was preventing him from recovering enough to return to the court in some capacity for the Nets. This season has been a tough one for Simmons as he played in only 42 games due to a variety of injuries mostly related to his knee and back.

When Simmons did play, his performance was well below expectations for someone of his caliber based on his career numbers and achievements. Brooklyn wants to get the most out of Simmons given that the Nets owe him almost $78 million over the next two seasons. However, according to HoopsHype, it looks like there are whispers of Brooklyn running out of patience with Simmons. Lee tried to downplay those rumors:

“Noise is simply that: noise. It is neither motivating nor defeating. It simply exists. Ben will continue to remain singularly focused on keeping the main thing, the main thing.”
