Nick Kyrgios declared Novak Djokovic “a superhuman” and highlighted that it is “incredible” what 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz has been able to accomplish so far. Kyrgios, the 2022 Wimbledon runner-up, was in Tennis Channel’s studio on Wednesday for ATP Finals action.

In his broadcasting debut, Kyrgios touched on several topics, including Alcaraz’s outstanding 2023 season. This year, Alcaraz won his second Grand Slam title at Wimbledon and the Spaniard was ranked at No 1 several times this year.

But since winning Wimbledon, Alcaraz’s form dipped a bit as the Spaniard has gone five consecutive tournaments without a title won. However, Kyrgios is not concerned at all about Alcaraz.

Kyrgios applauds Alcaraz: His success is incredible, Djokovic is an alien

“To be this young and dominating the way he (Alcaraz) has I think is incredible.

There’s always going to be people saying, ‘We want more, we want more’, but you’ve got to be patient with him, I think he’s doing enough for that age. Novak is obviously superhuman, he is an alien from another planet. All the other guys, Rune, pulled it together towards the end of the year, he went through a bit of a struggle period, pulled it back, that’s great to see, I like him.

Obviously, Rublev, Medvedev, Zverev, these guys are just so consistent all the time. Tsitsipas, obviously one of the best ball strikers that we have,” Kyrgios said on Tennis Channel. Meanwhile, Kyrgios is working on returning to tennis next season.

After a career-best season in 2022 – which included reaching a first Grand Slam final – Kyrgios was hit with brutal luck this year. Due to knee and wrist injuries, Kyrgios was limited to just one tournament and one match this year.

In Tennis Channel’s studio, Kyrgios confirmed he is working hard on his comeback and also expressed his desire to make a very strong return next year.
