It is no secret that Padraig Harrington is eager to play in the Ryder Cup. To achieve his goal, Harrington is willing to do anything, and he knows that playing well can secure his place on the team. The fact that he is in good shape can be pleasing to this experienced golfer.
In the remainder of the season, this golfer wants to keep up the same pace. Padraig wants to speak with captain Luke Donald and find out if he will be in the mix for the Ryder Cup team.“We’ll see more after these couple of weeks, but this is the best I’ve played these last two rounds, tee to green, in a long time,” Harrington said.“I’ve been playing better, getting better and doing things better.
The Champions Tour has got me focused better and I’ve started putting better. Now this week, with an eye on next week I was trying to get my head in the right place for next Thursday and I seem to have managed to do that a week early.
So I’m in a nice place, I’ll see how I play over the next two weeks then have a chat with Luke and if necessary I’ll change my schedule and come back and play a few in Europe. “
Ryder Cup
Every golfer dreams of being part of the Ryder Cup team, and so does he.
Padraig is ready to change his schedule, all in order to play in this big competition.“My intention was to go play some Champions Tour events but if I’m genuinely in contention then I’m prepared to make the effort and change my schedule and come back and prove it”.
We will see if Luke Donald will really count on him. It would be great to watch him in Rome this year.
