Patty Tavatanakit of Thailand was the clear standout at the Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF, which she won with a score of 270 (66 70 69 65, -18) after leading from start to finish. Played at the Riyadh Golf Club (par 72) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Alessandra Fanali delivered another strong performance, finishing 14th with 285 (69 74 68 74, -3), following up on her second-place finish last week at the Magical Kenya Open, the inaugural event of the Ladies European Tour.

Patty Tavatanakit, known more informally as Patty, a 24-year-old LPGA Tour player, added her first title on the European circuit to a resume that already included a Major (ANA Inspiration, 2021) and three wins on the Symetra Tour (now Epson Tour).
It was a commanding performance by the Thai player, who never let up the pace, progressively extending her lead to seven strokes with a final round of 65 (-7, one eagle, six birdies, one bogey) over her nearest competitor, German Esther Henseleit (277, -11).
For her stellar performance, she earned a prize of $697,743 from a total purse of $5,000,000. In third place with 279 (-9) were Japanese player Minami Katsu and English player Charley Hull, while Thai player Chanettee Wannasaen finished fifth with 280 (-8).
Danish player Emily Kristine Pedersen placed sixth with 281 (-7), and Korean player So Mi Lee, English player Alice Hewson, and Japanese-naturalized Filipino player Yuka Saso tied for seventh with 282 (-6). Alessandra Fanali continued to perform well in her second event of the year, with some ups and downs in the second and fourth rounds, which she concluded with a 74 (+2, two birdies, four bogeys).
Unfortunately, the other Italian player in the field, Virginia Elena Carta, making her seasonal debut, did not make the cut after 36 holes, finishing 81st with 150 (77 73, +6). The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played.
They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are the responsibility of the United States Golf Association.
An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision is effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance.
The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
