The Philadelphia 76ers have made their decision on who will be their new head coach. The Sixers decided to move on from Doc Rivers after three seasons on the job and they replaced him with former Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse.
Nurse is an innovative thinker and he gets the most out of his rosters. He guided the Raptors to their first NBA title in 2019, kept Toronto competitive even after Kawhi Leonard left, and has a career record of 227-163. He will now look to lead the Sixers on a deep playoff run.
Raptors star Fred VanVleet, who enjoyed a lot of success during his time with Nurse, reacted to the Sixers making the hire.

VanVleet was an All-Star in 2022 for Toronto and Nurse helped him unlock his game a bit more. He was an integral part of the title run.
Nurse should be able to come up with a lot of different schemes to help Joel Embiid flourish in the playoffs and, if James Harden returns, the Sixers will be looking to finally get over that Round 2 hump.
