Becky Lynch will walk into WrestleMania 39 next weekend as one half of the Women’s Tag-Team champions.
But according to The Man’s real-life other half Seth Rollins, there’s one team she’s not paying enough attention to – his beloved Chicago Bears!
The pair are two of WWE’s biggest stars but former Shield member Rollins is also an avid American football fan.
And during an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, The Architect admitted it’s been tough convincing his Irish wife Lynch to emulate his passion for the NFL.
Rollins did reveal that Lynch, whom he shares daughter Roux with, does share a unique Super Bowl talent – despite barely following the sport herself.
Asked by talkSPORT’s talkWRESTLING podcast whether Lynch was getting into American football, Rollins responded: “Maybe a little bit.
“She actually has a very oddly-good memory of Super Bowls.
“She can remember the teams and the winners of the last six, seven, eight Super Bowls and she doesn’t watch football at all.
“I don’t know how she has this weird memory for it, but she’s really good at it. She’ll get into the Bears a little bit.
“The problem is they lose a lot so she kind of just goes “why are we doing this? can’t we just pick somebody else?”, there’s a lot of options, we’re in Iowa, you ain’t gotta be a Bears fan.
“So I’m like, no, it’s in our blood, man. It’s in our blood. We can’t betray our own blood. My Grandpa was a Bears fan.
“He would be rolling over in his grave if he saw me rooting for the [Green Bay] Packers – can’t do it!
“We’ll have a winning season here in the next couple of years and she’ll be back around, She’ll be in the blue and orange like that.”
WWE will host a major stadium show in England again for Money in the Bank at the 02 Arena this summer for the first time since SummerSlam 1992.
It will mark Lynch’s first experience of a WWE PPV in the British Isles after she missed Clash at the Castle last year through injury.
Rollins, however, beat Matt Riddle at the Principality Stadium in Wales and is relishing the opportunity to return to these shores.
He added: “I mean, Clash at the Castle did pretty well.
“Wales showed out, not just Wales, that was all the UK, man. That place was wild. So I think we’re doing Money in the Bank in the 02.
“02’s always nuts anyway, when we come over there for European tour or for RAW, so for a pay per view, it’s going to be wild.
“I imagine people just crawling up the walls, you know?”
