Over the past couple of weeks, Froch has been building a rivalry with the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who bit back at his criticism in recent interviews.

Fury beat Paul by split decision

Now, with Fury having beaten Paul, a fight for the American against Froch looks further away than ever.

Speaking on BT Sport in reaction a jubilant Froch said: “He [Fury] has done professional boxing purists a massive favour by shutting up Jake Paul.

“That’s what we thought should happen.

“It might not shut him up for long, but he can’t call himself a professional boxer because he’s gone in against a novice pro and got absolutely whooped.

“He got obliterated.

“He wasn’t really in the fight, let’s be honest.”

Froch very much enjoyed Paul’s downfall

Not long later, Froch uploaded a separate video to Instagram.

He laughed: “Ha ha ha, Jake Paul, absolutely useless.

“You just got embarrassed, you got whooped, what was that?

“I’ve never seen anything so bad in my life.

“That was terrible, take up darts.”
