Manchester United suffered a double setback in their draw at Crystal Palace as they conceded a late equaliser, while Casemiro picked up a yellow card.
Bruno Fernandes’ 43rd-minute strike appeared to have sealed the Red Devils their tenth win in a row in all competitions, which would’ve seen them rise to second in the Premier League.
But a stunning free-kick from Michael Olise ensured both sides shared the spoils at Selhurst Park.
Next up for Man United is a trip to Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday, and they’ll have to do it without key midfielder Casemiro.
Erik ten Hag opted to start the Brazilian, who went into the match one yellow card away from a one-match suspension.
And on the 80th minute Casemiro was given that fateful yellow when he scythed Wilfried Zaha to the ground.
After Olise’s equaliser Casemiro missed a massive opportunity to win it for Man United but he failed to connect with a corner on the right from inside the six-yard box.
Casemiro had enjoyed a very productive match and was earlier involved in a bizarre incident as a fan ran onto the pitch to take a selfie with him.
The result is a huge setback for Man United in their title pursuit but they might consider themselves fortunate they didn’t leave empty-handed with David de Gea making great saves to deny Odsonne Edouard and Marc Guehi.
