Naomi Osaka prays for Turkey, after the powerful earthquake

Naomi Osaka, who is pregnant with her firstborn and currently oit from the WTA Tour, expressed her support for Turkey, a country deeply devastated by the powerful earthquake that hit the eastern part of the country on Monday 6 February 2023.

Naomi took to social media and wrote, as reported by sportskeeda.com, after seeing the destruction caused by the earthquake:

Naomi Osaka can enjoy an incredible record again

Naomi Osaka can enjoy an incredible record again.

According to the ranking drawn up by Forbes, the Japanese was also the highest paid female athlete in the world in 2022. 51.1 million dollars the super figure reached by Naomi Osaka, thanks above all to the contribution of the many sponsors, given the few significant results obtained on the court.

In second position the queen Serena Williams, who closed her last season as a professional tennis player on the podium with 41.3 million dollars. Third with 20 million square for the skier Eileen Gu. Tennis also occupies the places just below the podium: Emma Raducanu, finalist at the US Open 2021, is fourth, while Iga Swaitek is fifth thanks also to the prize money collected in the various tournaments won.

Top ten also for Venus Williams (sixth), the Americans Coco Gauff (seventh) and Jessica Pegula (ninth). On this ranking, Iga Swiatek said: “I’m happy to be in that ranking. Money isn’t my motivation but the difficult thing is that I really earned it on the pitch.

The other players mostly earned them through sponsorships, so there’s a difference. I feel like I could still expand the business a little bit.” Meanwhile, the Japanese revealed a few weeks ago that she was pregnant, thus dismissing rumors of her possible retirement and explained that she will return to the court in 2024.

She said: “I can’t wait to get back on the pitch; in the meantime here’s an update on my 2023. The last few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find it’s the hardest moments in life that can turn out to be the most fun .

These months away from the tennis world have really given me a new love and made me appreciate the sport I have dedicated my life to. I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moment for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure.

I know I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I look forward to is for my son to watch one of my games and tell someone that’s my mom. 2023 will be a year full of lessons for me and I hope to see you all early next year as I will be at the Australian Open 2024.”
