‘Quicksand’ trailer puts fresh exes in a sinking pit with a snake

So you’re about to get divorced. One horror movie reckons you’re better off talking it out — in a muddy, sinking pit, filled with at least one dead body and surrounded by at least one sneaky snek.

Shudder has dropped the trailer for Quicksand, which sees a married couple (Encanto‘s Carolina Gaitàn and Jack Ryan‘s Allan Hawco) deciding to break up while on a work conference in Colombia. Taking time for a hike through the rainforest between meetings and making moves to divorce, the pair must escape a mugging through the forest, but become trapped in a pit of quicksand. Nobody knows where they are, so they need to work together to escape. But there’s a giant snake looking for a snack out there.

Directed by Andrés Beltrán and written by Westworld‘s Matt Pitts, Quicksand looks like an absolute nightmare for recent exes.

How to watch: Quicksand will be streaming on Shudder(opens in a new tab) and AMC+(opens in a new tab) from July 14.
