Rose Zhang’s talent is already well established. Holder of numerous records in barely two years on the university circuit, the young American has imposed herself on the LPGA on her first outing as a professional.

Engaged this week at the US Women’s Open, the 20-year-old golfer returned a card of 74 (+2) at the start of the tournament, placing her in 39th place.

At 17, she scored an exceptional par. Placed on the wrong side of the green, the former Stanford student however released an incredible chip to get “given” and save her par”Oh wow, that’s crazy,” Zhang reacted when his agent showed him the video.

I knew not to miss it. Once I saw where my ball was, I didn’t even think to put it. So it was a very good shot. It was a little risky, but I felt like it was the hit of the day. This is a video that I will keep forever, I don’t think I will ever be able to do this again.

»Gary Woodland had achieved almost the same feat in 2019 on this same green before winning the US Open on the next hole. The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played.

They are jointly written and maintained by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body for golf worldwide, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are governed by the United States Golf Association.

An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA, oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision has been in force since January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance.

The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and manages the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
