And the Jamaican broke the deadlock at his beloved Theatre of Dreams in the 24th minute when he slotted the ball straight past David James with remarkable ease.

In front of the Stretford End, Bolt pulled out the Rashford celebration – pointing to his head as those present would have seen many times before.

His mark of respect to Rashford comes after Bolt revealed he believes the England international could beat him in a 20-yard sprint race.

Speaking on talkSPORT commentary of the goal, Andy Townsend said: “Never in doubt, was it?

“As soon as the big man managed to get going, he just latched onto that through ball.

“He got it onto that left foot, David James came racing out to make himself as big as he could.

“And then bang! The coolest shot into the corner to give the Soccer Aid World XI the lead.”

Bugzy Malone, real name Aaron Daniel Davies, tried his best not to let Bolt get a run on him, but injured himself in the process.

Moments before, the rapper showed no mercy on the 36-year-old when he chopped him down with fury.

As Bolt held up the ball, the UK artist flew through him – leaving him crocked – but it was Malone that ended up coming off.

“I am a little bit gutted, to be honest, my Achilles tendon has been bad all week. I am gutted,” he told Alex Scott on the touchline.

In what was a six-goal thriller, actor Asa Butterfield equalised shortly after half-time, before Paul Scholes fired England into the lead with an effort from range.

But he soon went off injured, with Robbie Keane firing in a quickfire double, before Kem Cetinay completed the scoring in the 80th minute.
