Mike Tyson has revealed to Tyson Fury’s dad John that he is ‘honoured’ to be the inspiration behind his son’s name.
The American is a legend in the world of boxing and is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweights to ever compete in the sport.

John previously revealed to the Guardian why Tyson, who was born premature, was given the name as he said: “It was 1988, Mike Tyson was in his pomp as world heavyweight champion, and so I said, ‘Let’s call him Tyson’.
“The doctors just looked at me and smiled.”
‘Iron Mike’ is in Saudi Arabia for the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury clash, and he took the opportunity to thank John for such a decision.
In a video shared by iFL TV of the pair embracing, Fury said: “Here he is, my main man. This is him, the man who I named my son after.
“Best heavyweight of his era, best young man ever born. Michael Tyson.”
“Your son has taken the title to the next level,” responded Tyson, with Fury replying: “He will not let your name down Michael.”
Tyson added: “Thank you and I appreciate that. I didn’t want to say it in public but I’m honoured. Thank you, really.”
All three are in the Gulf nation ahead of this weekend’s hotly anticipated fight between Paul and Fury.
They have tried on two previous occasions to organise a fight, but various issues have prevented it from happening.
However, the bitter rivals are now set to settle their differences in the ring on Sunday night.
Paul and Fury will battle at the Diriyah Arena, with their ring walks scheduled for 9:45pm UK time.
